Dinner is ready, but one detail still needs fixing. Which detail would you notice first?

The Table You Came FromAnyone can pass

READ ALOUD · PLAY TOGETHER

Either of you reads aloud. One answers first; the other responds or shares an answer. Swap who starts on the next card.

Anyone can pass. Tap Next when you are ready to move on.

A little more guidance

Read aloud. One person begins; respond to what they say, or share your own answer. For a round, invite each person once. Anyone may pass. Move on when you are ready. The device can stay on the table. Reading does not make you the first answerer.

FIVE WAYS INTO THE CONVERSATION

HOW TO PLAY

Read the card.
Stay with the people.

Open the six-card conversation or a chapter. A phone, tablet or laptop is enough. Reading the card does not mean answering first.

  1. 01

    Read aloud

Anyone can read. Keep one screen on the table, or let everyone see the card on their own phone.

  2. 02

    Follow the invitation

With two, alternate who answers first. In a group, a volunteer begins and others join in. A Round card invites each person once; a sentence or a pass is enough.

  3. 03

    Let it breathe

Talk for as long as you like. Press Next when you are ready for another card. Pass, pause or finish without explanation. There are no points.

Same card. However you gather.

A CONVERSATION STARTS HERE

At a meal you can linger over: lively chatter or comfortable quiet?

Read aloud. One begins; others respond.
← PreviousNext card →
Two sample cards · Use one phone, tablet or laptop. Read and respond aloud.

For a choice, decide silently and say your answers together on three. Creative cards tell you what to make or say. No need to tap answers or pass the phone; spoken answers are not recorded.

THE CONVERSATION CHANGES SHAPE

Stories, with
room for play.

Food gives everyone a way in. The next card can take the table somewhere unexpected.

01

Tell

One clear invitation to a story or an opinion. A volunteer begins; the conversation can go beyond the card.

02

Choose

Read both options. Each decide silently, then say your choices together on three. Compare; there is no right answer.

03

Invent

Give a recipe a warning label or offer a line to a flustered host. The card names the task and the finish.

04

Make together

Each contribute an idea, then combine them into an imagined dish, welcome or table. Two versions are welcome.

SHARED ROOM / ONE PURCHASE FOR THE GROUP

Same card. Your own phones.

Prefer your own screens? See the same card on each phone. For paid games, one person owns the game and everyone else joins free. Fire is free to host.

  1. 01

    The owner opens a room.

Choose a purchased game in My Library, then select Host a Shared Room.

  2. 02

    Send the guest link.

Friends tap the link or enter the six-character code. No guest account, email or purchase.

  3. 03

    Follow the same card.

The host changes cards. Someone reads aloud; one person begins and others respond. Choice and prediction cards explain when to reveal. Answers happen aloud, not through private voting on the phones.

Each new room has a fresh code and lasts up to eight hours. The host can end it earlier. Your purchased game stays in your Library. Everyone needs internet; Shared Room does not include a video call or record spoken answers.
