A small discovery.
A lighter obligation.
A shared harvest.

HOW TO PLAY

Read. Remember.
Make room for an idea.

Open the seven-card conversation or choose a chapter. Think of the past few months, wherever you live. You can answer from your own experience or invent an example. When a card supplies an imaginary scene, use that scene.

  1. 01

    Anyone reads

Read the card and its guidance aloud. Reading does not make you the first answerer. An ordinary or invented example is enough. Keep private details to yourself and pass whenever you prefer.

  2. 02

    Take turns beginning

For two: one begins and the other responds or gives an answer; swap who starts next time. In a group: a volunteer begins. Round cards invite each person once; a sentence or a pass is enough.

  3. 03

    Stay with a useful detail

Ask a question, offer a different example or let a small answer be enough. A task names its finish; a build invites an idea from each person. Tap Next when you are ready. Pause, change chapters or finish whenever you like.

01 / CHOICES

Decide, then compare

Read both options. Each decide silently first; say your choices together on three. Talk about what drew you to them. No votes are submitted on the phones.

02 / A LITTLE WIT

A title, a label, a line

Give a modest success a grand award, rename a busy stretch or compose an imaginary fridge note aloud. The card names the finish. Normal speech is enough; no acting, writing or clever answer is required.

03 / SOMETHING TOGETHER

Add an idea each

Each offer an idea before combining them. Describe a two-step surplus plan, a shared tool and borrowing rule, or two contents for a next-season box. No objects or materials are needed. Different versions are welcome.

04 / YOUR LEVEL OF DETAIL

Keep it everyday

What We Lost includes changed plans, quiet endings and traditions that can change. You can use an ordinary example, imagine one, choose another chapter or pass. Keep the conversation at your own level of detail. Passing and changing chapters are always part of the game.

Big enough to read. Small enough to bring.
