THREE ACTUAL CARDS. NO ACCOUNT.

A first sign.
Eve or morning?
Save the pudding.

Notice the first sign of Christmas at home. Compare Christmas Eve anticipation with an unhurried Christmas morning. Then invent a new dessert from an imaginary pudding that has slid off its plate.

Three actual cards, free to play together. Read the card and guidance aloud. One device can stay on the table; your answers happen in conversation.

What is the first sign in your home that Christmas is coming?

Before Everyone ArrivesAnyone can pass

READ ALOUD · PLAY TOGETHER

Either of you reads aloud. One answers first; the other responds or shares an answer. Swap who starts on the next card.

Anyone can pass. Tap Next when you are ready to move on.

A little more guidance

Read aloud. One person begins; respond to what they say, or share your own answer. For a round, invite each person once. Anyone may pass. Move on when you are ready. The device can stay on the table. Reading does not make you the first answerer.

FIVE CHAPTERS. MANY WAYS IN.

Before the arrivals.
After the last door.

Begin with seven selected cards, pick a chapter or draw freely. Move from the first preparations to returning faces, cherished customs, comic mishaps and the quiet after everyone leaves. Each card stands alone; you do not have to play a whole chapter.

HOW TO PLAY

Anyone reads.
The house joins in.

Open the seven-card conversation or choose a chapter. Anyone can read aloud. Use a memory, something you have noticed or an invented Christmas household. You do not need to be celebrating together, or to share the same customs.

  1. 01

    Anyone reads

Read the card and its guidance aloud. Reading does not make you the first answerer. Read the whole task, including the finish it asks for. A memory or invented example is enough. Pass whenever you prefer.

  2. 02

    Take turns beginning

For two: one begins and the other responds or gives an answer; swap who starts next time. In a group: a volunteer begins. Round cards invite each person once; a sentence or a pass is enough.

  3. 03

    Let the conversation happen

Ask a question, offer a different example or let a small answer be enough. For a task, describe or invent the result the card asks for; no acting is needed. For a build, each offer an idea before combining two. Tap Next when you are ready. Pause, change chapters or finish whenever you like.

01 / CHOICES

Decide, then compare

Read both options. Each decide silently first; say your choices together on three. Talk about what drew you to them. No votes are submitted on the phones.

02 / A LITTLE WIT

A soundtrack, a warning, a rescue

Name an interrupted Christmas album, give a lovely gathering an alarming warning label or rescue a wrong present with one friendly line. The card names the finish. Normal speech is enough; no singing, acting or writing required.

03 / SOMETHING TOGETHER

Add an idea each

Each offer an idea before combining them. Combine two actions into a free Christmas custom, rescue an imaginary pudding as a new dessert or give the house a one-sentence diary entry. No objects or materials are needed. Different versions are welcome.

04 / YOUR LEVEL OF DETAIL

Let Christmas be yours

No one has to explain their family, beliefs or holiday plans. A fictional household is welcome. Describe people affectionately rather than doing impressions. A quiet answer, another chapter or a pass is always part of the game.

Big enough to read. Small enough to bring.
